If you’re a student with experience in journalism and storytelling—and you’re interested in writing about science, health, climate, and all things research-related—Boston University’s award-winning research news website, The Brink, wants to hear from you.
The Brink has an opening for a science writing intern for the spring semester. Candidates should have strong writing skills, ideally with previous journalism experience. We’re looking for a BU undergraduate student who can work 10 to 12 hours a week from January to May 2025.
Responsibilities include pitching and writing stories about science and research news, covering events and awards, and seeking out opportunities to write about undergraduate research, as well as taking on other assignments as needed. Visit bu.edu/brink to familiarize yourself with the tone and style of the stories we publish, which are all written for a broad, science-curious audience.
The deadline for applying is Wednesday, November 13.
To apply, send your résumé, cover letter, and two to three writing clips to jrcola@bu.edu. Or apply through the Student Employment Office job board. The job reference number is 8598.
