Hello My Name Is

Name: Meggie Cramer
From: Chicago, Illinois
School: College of Communication
Major: Television

What convinced you to come to BU?

First, BU’s television program. I was really excited to find a school that would allow me to focus specifically on television and work both studying television as a medium and hands-on in the process of producing. The internship opportunities at BU are amazing, and I think it’ll help me build a really solid base for a career. Secondly, the city! Boston is such an amazing environment, and I can’t wait to be in an urban campus and get to know the city. It’s such a buzzing center and I really loved it the second I set foot on BU Beach.

What makes you feel most excited about coming to college?

Being away from the Midwest is a big excitement, but also meeting new people, enjoying the atmosphere, and even though it sounds nerdy, taking new classes.

What makes you feel most nervous about coming to college?

I don’t think I’m really nervous about anything. I go to boarding school so leaving home isn’t really an issue, but I guess I’m nervous about fitting in everything I want and can possibly do without overloading myself.

What kinds of activities do you want to become involved in?

I want to join the sailing team and the equestrian team and do as many clubs as I can. I’m really excited to go to sporting events, especially hockey!

What is one of the goals of your first year at BU?

Meet as many people as I can and have as much fun as I can. I want to work hard but have time to enjoy myself and be part of the BU community.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I’m really proud of graduating as one of the top in my class at my boarding high school and receiving both the Creative Writing award and the Political Science award from my teachers.

What will be your first stop when you start exploring Boston?

Back on Newbury Street! Or the North End for Mike’s Pastries.

How are you spending your summer vacation?

Working at Ralph Lauren in Chicago, hopefully going on a road trip to Toronto with my best friend, and a weeklong cruise through the Caribbean. And preparing to leave for BU, of course!
