Areas of Interest
Historical archaeology, prostitution, 19th-century urbanism, feminist theory, gender and sexuality, identity, archaeology of the senses
Research Interests & Fieldwork
My dissertation work examines the 27/29 Endicott Street brothel privy collection. I am particularly interested in trying to understand the daily lived experiences of the brothel through theories in sexuality and embodiment, and utilizing theories concerned with archaeology of the senses. I have also worked on an 18th century plantation site on the island of Montserrat, W.I. and conducted a micromorphological study of one of the structures.
