What have you been doing since you’ve graduated?
Since I’ve graduated, I have received a certificate in aerial dance from Frequent Flyers. I have also studied and received a Master’s degree in Museum Studies from San Francisco, where I cataloged and digitized the university’s ancient coin collection and focused my studies on the management of ancient coin collections in American museums. I also focused on digitization and techniques in the digital humanities focused on increasing accessibility to museum collections. I have been in the museum field for 5 years and am currently the Collections Information Specialist for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Classical Archaeology, where I will continue to pursue a study in the Mediterranean Bronze Age, numismatics, and the digital humanities. I intend to use my eclectic expertise to continue my career in cultural heritage. I also serve as a board member of the Museum Studies Special Interest Group for San Francisco State University and am a co-chair for the Visual Resources Emerging Professionals and Student Interest Group at the Visual Resources Association, where I develop programming for emerging and current professionals. I am very passionate about supporting and informing emerging professionals in the cultural heritage fields.
How did your experience in the program shape your professional and personal life?
My experience in the program has provided me with unique skills in methodology and management that laid the foundation for my museum career.
What interactions with members of the Archaeology faculty did you value most during your time in the program?
The advising I was able to receive, particularly in what it takes to pursue an archaeology career was invaluable to me.
