Joshua Robinson promoted to Senior Lecturer of Archaeology
We have a special occasion to celebrate: the promotion of Dr. Joshua Robinson from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer. Josh has been a member of our faculty since 2019 and teaches some of our most popular courses, including AR 100 (now titled Archaeology Today) and AR 280 (Eating and Drinking in the Ancient World). He has also been instrumental in making possible our newest major, Archaeological & Environmental Sciences, a joint major with the Department of Earth & Environment; Josh teaches the capstone course for the major, AR 520 (Theory and Method in Environmental Archaeology).
Dr. Robinson is a leading scholar of the paleoecological context of Plio-Pleistocene biological and behavioral adaptations of the human lineage. His primary research is focused on investigating the diets of our ancestors and the environmental context of the Middle to the Later Stone Age transition in sub-Saharan Africa, but he also maintains active research in Argentina, with research funding from the Leakey Foundation and the American Philosophical Society.
Please join me in extending many congratulations to Josh for his well-deserved promotion!
