Archaeology plans the menu for an Alumni Association Event – Eating Archaeology: Cooking up the Past

The event was held on Tuesday, December 13, 6:30pm, Food & Wine Program, 808 Commonwealth Ave.

Join us for an evening of food and wine with a menu researched by BU graduate students in the Department of Archaeology.  Our chefs will re-create dishes from Prehispanic Aztecs, Bronze Age Greece and China, and 19th Century Boston.  Our student experts will be on hand to fill in the historical details. Space is limited!

Appetizer: Prehispanic Aztec
Pork Tamales
Vegetable Tamales
Main Course: Bronze Age Greece and Bronze Age China
Mycenaean Lamb Stew
Chinese Brazed Pork with Millet and Bok Choy
Dessert: 19th Century Bostonian Brothel
Sponge Cake with peach marmalade
Sugar-frosted cherries and grapes
Dinner will also include a vegetable salad and a wine/beer pairing.
