The MS in Actuarial Science program at BU’s Metropolitan College (MET) prepares you for a career as an actuary. Whether you study on campus or online, you will learn from experienced faculty who provide exposure to practical business and economic principles, while exploring some of the fiscal and ethical dilemmas often encountered in the process of business decision-making. As practitioners in the Boston area, BU MET faculty comprise a valuable network in one of the nation’s major financial and insurance centers. They’ll help you build a solid academic foundation in actuarial science, statistics, and finance, as you benefit from practical exposure to business and economic principles.
BU MET’s master’s program in Actuarial Science also includes concentrations in Finance and Insurance. In addition, there are two four-course graduate certificate programs designed to help you “think like an actuary” while developing a solid understanding of the essentials of actuarial work. Certificates can be stacked toward the master’s degree requirements or can serve as standalone graduate credentials.
