In May 2022, 36 on-campus students and 28 on-line students earned their Six Sigma Green Belt. On-campus students were presented with their certificates by Prof. John Maleyeff during a celebration event on May 11. The green belt designation is awarded to students who pass the green belt examination taken at the end of the AD 734 (Quality Management) course (students who also passed the AD 605 course were awarded the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt). The Council for Six Sigma Certification approved the awarding of this credential by BU-MET after review of AD 734 course content and the green belt examination. It is a credential that many firms appreciate because it confirms that its holder can assist an organization by analyzing and improving the quality of their business processes.
The AD 734 course is required for supply chain management students, and it is a popular elective course for students in other majors. So far, 216 MET on-campus and on-line students have earned the green belt designation.
