Undergraduate Policy

To achieve sophomore standing, a student must have completed 32 units by the beginning of term I of the academic year. To achieve junior standing, a student must have completed 64 units by the beginning of term I of the academic year. To achieve senior standing, a student must have completed 96 units by the beginning of term I of the academic year.

Graduation is not automatic. In order to graduate, students must submit an application for graduation two terms before they plan to complete their degree requirements. Degrees are awarded in January, May, and August. Students will officially graduate only when all degree requirements are met. Students may participate in the May commencement ceremonies if they plan to complete all academic requirements by August. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (C) is required for graduation. No more than four grades of D can be applied toward any undergraduate degree.
