The School of Theology (STH) offers certificates in:
- Music ministry
- Religious Education
- Spiritual Formation
Certificate courses may be taken by any student, but they are designed to meet the academic requirements stipulated by the United Methodist Church for certification in each area. The purpose of each certificate is to help students deepen their knowledge and expertise in the area and, then, to document their specialized preparation for ministry.
United Methodist students are eligible to be certified through annual conference boards of ordained ministry after completing the academic courses for certification and fulfilling the additional church and personal requirements. The School of Theology documents students’ specialized academic work by giving them a letter of completion.
For questions related to admissions into a certificate program, please contact the School of Theology Admissions Office at email@example.com. For all questions about the certificate program not related to the admissions process, please contact Dr. Wanda Stahl, Codirector of Contextual Education and Congregational Partnerships.
