Souhaila Nassar
Doctoral Student

Souhaila Nassar is a doctoral student in the Language & Literacy Education Department at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research interests include supporting multilingual learners in making sense of scientific concepts and writing scientific texts in science classrooms, particularly through translanguaging pedagogy.
Before joining BU, Souhaila taught science for middle school classes and managed educational projects at nonprofits in Lebanon. She also worked as a research assistant in the Language of Science and Mathematics Project at the American University of Beirut (AUB). And most recently, she was awarded the MEPLI 2022 (Middle East Professional Learning Initiative) fellowship at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
