
Ruchi Mendiratta Khanna
Doctoral Student
Ruchi Mendiratta Khanna is a doctoral student at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education & Human Development and a member of Project TEAMS, where she contributes to research that advances equity in student mental health and well-being in schools.
Ruchi has over a decade of experience as a special education teacher and behavior analyst supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs in inclusive school settings. Her professional and scholarly work focuses on culturally responsive social-emotional learning and school practices that support students from historically marginalized communities.
In addition to her academic work, Ruchi collaborates with community organizations and school districts on research and advocacy initiatives that support families of children with disabilities and multilingual learners. Her community-engaged work centers on strengthening partnerships between schools and families, building caregiver advocacy and leadership, and developing culturally responsive approaches to student and family well-being.
