Director, Upward Bound & Upward Bound Math/Science
As director of Boston University Upward Bound (UB), Reggie Jean oversees the Upward Bound program, a federally funded TRIO college preparatory program for potential first-generation college and low-income Boston Public High School students. Mr. Jean began a connection with Upward Bound as a tutor. He served as a tutor for two years until he earned his degree and became a teacher, returning each summer to work with UB. He became a full-time UB staff member in 2001.
Mr. Jean was president of the Wheelock Graduate Student Association and the New England Educational Opportunity Association, and has served on several committees within NEOA since 2002. In addition to having served on advisory committees with MEFA and the College Board, he is also a past-president of the Massachusetts Educational Opportunity Association.
