Pierre Huberson

Doctoral Student

Pierre Huberson is a doctoral student in higher education leadership at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. His research interests center on the affordability of higher education, with a particular emphasis on how financial pressures affect access, equity, and student success.

Pierre currently serves as assistant vice president of media technologies and production at Emerson College, where he oversees a portfolio that includes film, television, and emerging media facilities; technology services; and student employment initiatives. In this role, he has advanced projects that integrate new technologies such as virtual production and XR while also supporting traditional practices like analog film. His work bridges operational management with long-term strategic planning in support of student learning and institutional sustainability.

Before joining Emerson’s leadership team, Pierre built a career in audio engineering and media production, working in both academic and professional settings. Originally from Guadeloupe, Pierre began his studies in Paris before moving to Boston in the late 1990s. He is fluent in French, English, and Guadeloupean Creole and maintains an active creative practice in music mixing and production.
