Joselyn Carvalho

Doctoral Student

Joselyn Carvalho is a doctoral student in counseling psychology at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research and clinical interests center on community health, expressive arts therapy, and evidence-based treatments for underserved BIPOC youth and families.

Clinically, Joselyn has worked with youth and families in hospitals, schools, and community health centers, providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed care. Her graduate research explored intergenerational trauma and the power of storytelling as an intervention for communal healing. She has also facilitated expressive arts-based programs and conducted research across clinical and community settings, integrating multiple modalities to foster healing and resilience.
