Professor of the Practice
After almost four decades as an administrator at Harvard, Northeastern, and Boston University, I am now a Professor of the Practice at BU, where I teach at both Metropolitan College (where I was dean for a dozen years) and in SED’s Higher Education program. I was also responsible for the development and oversight of BU’s distance learning and chaired the President’s Council for a Global University. I continue to be involved in academic innovation, online education, and adult learning on a national level. I teach visiting international students (about American management, institutions, and culture) and graduate students in managerial ethics, along with my teaching at SED.
Bachelors in History from Temple University
Masters in Comparative History at Brandeis University
Doctorate in Higher Education from Boston College
AP 730 Innovation in Higher Education
I write frequently for the Huffington Post, the New England Journal of Higher Education, and other publications.
I oversaw the process for developing Hallmarks of Excellence in Online Leadership, which has led to conference presentations and workshops.
