
Heather Johnson
Assistant Dean, Executive Affairs
Heather Johnson is the assistant dean of executive affairs at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. In this role, she provides strategic and executive leadership throughout the college, overseeing and managing matters of institutional importance on behalf of the dean.
Before joining BU Wheelock, Dr. Johnson served as vice president of programs, strategy & impact at EdVestors, a nonprofit organization working to advance equitable, meaningful education for every student in Boston. At EdVestors, she oversaw three program areas and provided strategic direction, leadership, and thought partnership related to organizational influence and impact. She also previously led program and strategy work at Jobs for the Future (JFF), served as director of the Teacher Education Program at the College of the Holy Cross, and supported statewide efforts to improve mathematics education at the Rhode Island Department of Education. Across roles and contexts, her work and perspective is shaped by her experiences as a middle grades mathematics teacher.
