Doctoral Student
Emmanuel Fairley-Pittman is a doctoral student in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies program at BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. He is excited to research the principles of effective teacher preparation and professional learning that prioritize student success while emphasizing adult learning and well-being. He believes that when educators understand themselves as efficacious leaders, they can empower students and their community to do great things.
Emmanuel started his career in education in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, teaching third, fourth, and fifth grade for eight years. Recently, he has taken on the role of inclusive education coach to help schools and teachers in Boston understand, influence, and implement the district’s Inclusive Education Plan.
