
Christine Smith
Part-Time Instructor
Dr. Christine Smith is a part-time lecturer in counseling psychology at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. She also maintains a private practice, where she provides psychotherapy to individuals and couples, with expertise in eating disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, mood disorders, grief, relationship concerns, and body image.
She has taught at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, holding adjunct faculty appointments at William James College and previously at Bentley University. She has published scholarly work in both a textbook and a peer-reviewed journal, with her research focusing on the experiences of women in STEM fields. Dr. Smith also consults with clinicians on the treatment of eating disorders and has delivered numerous presentations and trainings to healthcare and corporate audiences.
Before becoming a psychologist, she worked for six years as an engineer in the biotechnology field and earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Villanova University.
