Chau Nguyen

Doctoral Student

Chau Nguyen is a doctoral student in special education at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Her research focuses on early childhood education, advancing equity and inclusion for students from diverse backgrounds in special education settings, and promoting culturally responsive practices that strengthen collaboration between professionals and families.

Chau’s professional experience is grounded in early intervention, where she has supported families of young children with disabilities in accessing services and navigating the transition to public school. In addition to her academic work, she serves as the executive director of the Circle of Vietnamese Parents, a nonprofit organization that supports hundreds of Vietnamese families of children with disabilities across Massachusetts. The organization works to bridge language and cultural gaps by providing dual-language workshops, translated resources, and peer networks that help families better understand special education and disability services. It also fosters parent-to-parent connections, reducing isolation and honoring cultural values while promoting inclusion and equity.
