Cassandra Kobelski

Doctoral Student

Cassandra Kobelski is a doctoral student  in educational studies with a focus on language and literacy at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Cassandra’s research centers on teacher education for educators of bilingual and multilingual learners. Her work aims to explore how teachers’ beliefs and practices impact student learning and what steps can be taken to improve the current sheltered English immersion model as well as English as a second language (ESL) instruction.

Before attending BU Wheelock, Cassandra worked at Framingham High School (FHS) as an ESL teacher in Framingham, Massachusetts. During her time at FHS, Cassandra worked to streamline ESL curriculum, increase marginalized student participation in extracurriculars, and teach professional development sessions at the department and district level. She also has experience teaching English in Spain through the Meddeas program.
