Arielle Derival
Director, GEAR UP
Arielle Derival is the director of the GEAR UP program at BU Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Before this role, Ms. Derival worked for American Student Assistance as an education and career specialist and worked for the Boston Private Industry Council as a career specialist.
Ms. Derival believes in making sure students are well equipped with the tools and resources necessary to succeed throughout their secondary and postsecondary educational careers. By exposing students to positive youth-adult relationships, social and emotional learning, responsible decisionmaking skills, mentorship, and career exploration opportunities, she works to increase the number of students who go on to pursue postsecondary education and successfully graduate. Ms. Derival works hard to make sure that the next generation of students feel prepared to enter the workforce and make decisions regarding their future.
