Annabel Stoler

Postdoctoral Associate

Dr. Annabel Stoler is a postdoctoral research associate in the Teaching & Learning Department at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. She works with Dr. Meghan Shaughnessy to explore collaborative pedagogical reasoning between mentor and novice teachers. Her research focuses on the relational aspects of teaching math and science, and she seeks to support teachers in fostering learning environments that are critically caring.

As a doctoral student at Boston University, Dr. Stoler worked with Dr. Eve Manz to research the role of uncertainty in elementary science investigations. Her dissertation, “Teaching in the Tangle: The Intertwined Relational and Epistemic Activity of Science Classrooms” explores the role of classroom culture in science teaching and learning. Dr. Stoler is a former middle school math and science teacher.
