Three BU Wheelock Faculty Promoted to Full Professor

Three BU Wheelock faculty members were recently promoted to full professor. Stephanie Curenton, Jennifer Greif Green, and Marcus Winters represent the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies, Applied Human Development, and Special Education programs at BU Wheelock.

“We recognize Drs. Curenton, Green, and Winters for their outstanding contributions to the college, university, and their fields,” says BU Wheelock Dean David Chard. “Their scholarship, teaching and mentoring, and service are exemplary, and the BU Wheelock community continually benefits from their strong and active presence at our college.”

Stephanie Curenton, Applied Human Development and Educational Leadership & Policy Studies

Stephanie Curenton is a professor in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies and Applied Human Development programs. She is also the executive director of the Center for the Ecology of Early Development (CEED). A developmental and community psychologist, Curenton studies the social, cognitive, and linguistic and literacy development of racially marginalized children in different environments, such as parent-child interactions, early childhood care and education, professional development interventions for the early childhood workforce, and related state and federal policies designed to promote the positive development and health of young children.

Jennifer Greif Green, Special Education

Jennifer Greif Green is a professor of special education whose research focuses on mental health service access in schools, supporting students with emotional/behavioral disorders, and bullying prevention. Co-director of the Social Adjustment & Bullying Prevention Laboratory and the School Mental Health Lab, Green partners with school districts on the development of multi-tiered systems of support, the provision of mental health programs and trainings for students and educators, and to conduct school-wide bullying and mental health assessments. A licensed clinical psychologist, she is also the editor of the Journal of Education.

Marcus Winters, Educational Leadership & Policy Studies

Marcus Winters

Marcus Winters is a professor and chair of the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies department. The faculty director of the Wheelock Educational Policy Center (WEPC), he is an educational policy expert who studies school choice, accountability, and the impact of policies on teacher qualities. Winters’ research has been published in several journals, including Journal of Public Economics, Educational Researcher, and Economics of Education Review.
