Tara Hughes –California State University Channel Islands
Tara Hughes is the Manager of Administrative Services at California State University Channel Islands in Camarillo, CA. Tara joined the staff in 2014, where she has worked to develop and implement a shared services center known as the Shared Services Solution Center. She leads a large team of student employees and full-time staff in providing the first layer of support service for a myriad of campus-related interests, ranging from general campus inquiries and human resources information to tier-1 technical support. Tara is a customer service evangelist whose goal is to infuse the area of technology with personable first-tier agents who provide quality customer service, as well as teaching college students the work ethic and traits necessary to succeed in a professional environment. In this role, she is afforded unique opportunities to impact students through coaching and mentoring while actively looking to encourage diversity and women in IT.
