Creating Screencasts on a Computer
While there are many tools out there to create screencasts (videos of all activity on your screen), some of the more recent versions of Windows and Mac have built-in screencasting capabilities.
To record your screen on a Mac:
Click on Command+Shift+5– You will see different options come up that allows you to choose a designated area to record. Make sure you have clicked on your microphone option if you are planning on recording your voice as well. Once you stop the recording, your video file will be saved on your desktop.
To record your screen on Windows:
Windows uses the built-in Xbox gaming feature to record screens. While this is mostly used for recording games while one plays, it could be used for recording pages/apps on your screen. Keep in mind that the ‘recording’ feature only works if you have a page or program open. It will not record your compyter desktop.
Step 1: Click on Win+G
Step 2: Click on the camera (capture) icon on the black bard that appears.
Step 3: Click on Win+Alt+R, and you will see the record video feature begins.
