In typical in-person classes or in remote settings, instructors may ask students to present in a synchronous or asynchronous modality, while recording their presentations. Instructors may ask students to share their video presentation files with the class. Below are some tips for helping students share their video presentations.
In a remote environment, students may be asked to present either synchronously in their main Zoom room to the class, in their Zoom break-out rooms with their team-mates, or asynchronously, outside of classroom hours. Below is advice on ways instructors may ask students to submit their recorded video presentations with the instructor.
Sharing student presentations on MyMedia Gallery
Instructors may ask students to submit their presentation videos on MyMedia Gallery integrated within BlackBoard.
The benefits of using the MyMedia Gallery are:
- Having student presentations all in one place.
- Avoiding multiple platforms/websites for students.
- Uploading videos at a very fast-paced rate.
- Accessing student analytics on videos viewed (This information may be accessed on your mymedia.bu.edu account.
The video below offers information for faculty on setting up their own MyMedia Gallery on BlackBoard.
The video below offers information for students on accessing the MyMedia Gallery and uploading their presentation after the instructor has set it up on their end.

Sharing student presentations on GoReact
You may set up a GoReact assignment on your Blackboard course site for students to share their presentations. You would want to use GoReact especially if you are planning on providing feedback on the actual students’ videos (as if you would be commenting on their papers). The platform is well integrated in Blackboard, and allows for an easy use of the tool both for instructors and students. You may also attach rubrics to the GoReact assignment. Please see below for an overview of GoReact, and how to set it up on your Blackboard course site.
