Building Decarbonization (CAP 1.2)

To help reach its climate goals, BU convened a working group in 2025 to identify strategies and tactics to help decarbonize our existing buildings.

As of the end of the 2024 fiscal year, Boston University was 65% of the way towards its goal of net zero direct emissions, based upon its baseline year of 2006. 98% of the University's remaining emissions, come from heating and cooling and the focus of this working group will be to recommend strategies to help the University reach its climate goals.
