 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Greek Letter Organizations: At this time, the Student Activities Office will not be accepting applications for Greek organizations. This includes both social and professional Greek letter organizations. For more information, please reach out to Dean Battaglino at jbattag@bu.edu

Religious Group Additional Requirements: To request status as a new Religious organization there is an additional process from the Religious Life Council that you will need to follow concurrently with the Student Activities Application. The RLC application and presentation is a required piece of this recognition process. Students must do two things to complete the application process for recognition. The order of which you choose to do the following is not relevant, just that they both are completed within the Student Activities application deadline. Since you are here, you can proceed and finish this application or you can hold off (it will be saved on your TerrierCentral) and move forward with the Religious Life piece. (1) You will need to schedule a presentation with the Religious Life Council (RLC) which can be done here. (2) The Council will make a recommendation to Student Activities and then we will work with the Student Involvement Board to move forward with the process.

Honor Society Additional Requirements: Requesting Status as a New Honor Society is a multiple step process. The faculty/staff advisor must send a letter in support of the honor society to the Dean of the School or College to which the honor society is affiliated. The Dean of the School or College must then send a letter of request to recommend the society for approval to the Office of the Provost. The Provost must approve the organization and submit a letter of support to the organization. Once you have obtained a letter of support and uploaded it below, you may proceed to register as a new organization through Student Activities by following the regular recognition request process.

Graduate Organizations:  If you are a graduate group seeking recognition, please reach out to your respective school or college’s Graduate Programs Office for support and recognition. After you have received recognition from Graduate Programs you can submit a request to SAO to be set up with a financial account and portal through our office.

Risk Management: Your organization may need an additional review process with the University Risk Management office. This is a process that is facilitated through the Student Activities office on the groups behalf. We kindly ask that your members do not attempt to connect with RM.

Sports Organizations: We will recognize social sports organizations who want to gather and play. We do not give recognition to competition sports organizations who compete with other campuses or outside competitions. Competitive sports organizations should contact Athletics regarding Intramural or Club Sport recognition.
