Smart Lighting Challenge:
An Engineering Design and Business Strategy Case Study and Competition -2011

This BU Energy Club, student-run competition:

1. Encourages entrepreneurship through competition
2. Creates an opportunity for engineering and science students to partner with business school students to learn new skills and develop important relationships for future business opportunities
3. Puts innovation, technology and venture assessment for smart lighting commercialization in a unique interdisciplinary student team-based activity
4. Provides visibility for the research here at BU and draws potential industry members to the ERC
5. Creates opportunity for commercialization through exposure to venture capitalists and industry professionals who are judges and participants
6. Fulfills the mission of the NSF ERC and becomes a model for other National Science Foundation Engineering Research Centers
