The Mental Health and Substance Use Program Assistant coordinates existing programs and projects on mental and physical health.
Eligibility requirements:
Incoming or continuing student enrolled in a graduate program, or a rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an undergraduate program at Boston University.
Opportunities may include:
- Coordinate day-to-day oversight of health promotion programs and projects, such as Program Kits and Condom Fairy
- Serving as a member of the All Ears: Peer Listening team
- Support and enhance programs that align with strategic priorities, such as: Mindfulness programs & All Ears: Peer Listening
- Support the implementation and facilitation of the Mindfulness Workshop
Assist with campus outreach as needed
Assist with general office administration including email correspondence and maintenance, inventory tracking
An ideal candidate will have:
- Passion for supporting student health
- Content knowledge around mental health and substance use topic areas
- Experience with facilitating workshops and trainings
- Strong skills in project management, communication, and collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem-solve
- Experience incorporating concepts of diversity, inclusion, and social justice in health promotion
Time commitment:
- This position will be in person for 2025-2026 academic year, with potential for virtual onboarding
- Approximately 15 hours per week beginning in August 2024 and ending in May 2025, with the potential to extend to the following academic year.
- May be required to work occasional evenings and weekends
