Subject to the respective program directors’ approval, certain course substitutions may be permitted.

Visit the College of Arts & Science for MBA+ MS in Quantitative Economics program requirements.

Full-Time MBA students must successfully complete a minimum of 40 credits in Questrom and 24 credits in the Department of Economics; the other 16 credits may be taken in Questrom and the Department of Economics; the remaining 16 credits may be taken in Questrom, the Department of Economics, or, with prior approval, elsewhere in the University.

Obtaining the two degrees separately would generally require six semesters in residence, but through careful course selection and elimination of overlapping courses, full-time students may earn this value joint degree in only five, or two and a half years.

For Part-Time MBA students, the degree is 72 credits, including 32 Questrom credits, 24 Economics credits, and 16 credits taken in Questrom or the Department of Economics.

You are strongly advised to take two economics core courses per semester in the normal sequence (EC501 and EC507 in the first semester and EC502 and EC508 in the second).

For part-time students in the MBA+ MS in Quantitative Economics program, please note that many of the economics classes are only available during the day. You should not expect to be able to complete the MS in Quantitative Economics degree entirely in the evening.
