BU Questrom Launches Online MS in Artificial Intelligence in Business
February 12, 2026

Boston University Questrom School of Business has launched a new Online MS in Artificial Intelligence in Business, designed for working professionals responsible for improving performance, scaling change, and making artificial intelligence work in real organizations.
As AI reshapes how work gets done, many organizations find themselves stuck in the messy middle: too many experiments, unclear decision rights, and rising risk as AI begins influencing operational and strategic decisions. This new degree is built for leaders navigating that reality—and turning AI into durable, accountable results.
“AI is moving fast, but most organizations lack the operating models to use it responsibly and at scale. This program focuses on the architectural vision organizations need—how to redesign workflows, decision rights, and governance so AI improves performance without eroding accountability.”
— Paul Carlile, Senior Associate Dean, Research & Innovation, Professor, Information Systems.
What students will learn
Graduates will learn how to make AI work inside real business processes—strengthening decisions, improving outcomes, and enabling change that holds up over time. Rather than focusing on tool accumulation, the program emphasizes envisioning and execution, including how to: redesign workflows and decision-making for AI-enabled work; clarify ownership and accountability across teams; build governance and risk frameworks that scale; and establish operating models that drive measurable performance.
Designed by the Questrom team with a proven track record in innovative online learning, the program reflects the school’s long-standing approach to professional education. Questrom does not simply move courses online; it redesigns learning around how professionals actually work—an approach that has earned recognition from outlets such as Forbes and Poets & Quants.
The Online MS in AI in Business is delivered 100% online, allowing students to earn their degree without relocating or pausing their careers. The program consists of 32 credits and is offered at a total tuition of $25,000, making an advanced business degree in AI accessible to working professionals.
Applications are now open for the Online MS in AI in Business, with the inaugural cohort beginning August 2026.
