Vocational Peer Support

The VPS Training Program is offered as an approach for peer specialists, a curriculum and a training program for trainers, and an option for agencies who want to increase engagement in employment. It is designed to give you tools, concepts, and lesson plans that you will need to offer a training in Vocational Peer Support.

Vocational Illness Management and Recovery

Designed to provide you with the information, strategies, and tools for using Vocational Illness Management and Recovery (VIMR), a modification of the evidenced-based Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) curriculum that is oriented towards helping people with mental health conditions live well and thrive as they choose, get, and keep meaningful employment.

Vocational Empowerment Photovoice

Seeks to help people think about work and empower them to set a vocational goal. For many people who have a diagnosis of a serious mental illness, it is hard to imagine working. It may seem like there are just too many barriers, and it may be hard to know where to start. This program will invite participants to consider pursuing a meaningful vocational life.

Training Technology: Case Management

Designed to teach case managers any, or all, of four essential activities: planning for services, linking clients to services, advocating for service improvements, and connecting with clients.

Training Technology: Direct Skills Teaching

Teaches practitioners how to help consumers acquire and use the skills needed to be successful and satisfied in residential, educational, vocational, and social environments. Practitioners learn how to outline skill content, plan the lesson, program skill use, and encourage the individuals’ participation throughout the teaching process.

Training Technology: Functional Assessment

Teaches practitioners how to help define and evaluate the skills needed for consumers to be successful and satisfied in particular residential, educational, vocational, or social environments. Practitioners learn how to list critical skills, describe skill use, evaluate skill functioning, and coach individuals through the assessment process.

Training Technology: Rehabilitation Readiness

A package of training materials with three components: Assessing Readiness, Developing Readiness, and Connecting. Each component can be taught independently or in a sequence designed by the individual trainer.
