Preparation for the Event:

Attending a law fair requires preparation- but don’t stress! Anyone can benefit from attending a law fair. Depending on your class standing, your interests, and where you are in applying to law school, there are different steps you can take to gain as much as possible from the experience. Do your research on schools of interest prior, and be prepared with questions.

List of Participating Law Schools & Organizations

Review the law fair event map to find out which schools are attending and make a plan, so you can spend your time efficiently speaking with those schools. Be sure to visit the schools most important to you. If there is time left in the fair, stop by some schools you may not have been considering; take in as much as you can!

Be respectful of the representative’s time. Do not dominate the conversation and be mindful of the length of the conversation. If you are applying or have applied to a school, be sure to introduce yourself. Law schools usually track interactions with students.

There is no dress code for the event, and we do hope you’ll come as you are and be comfortable. At the same time, this an important networking opportunity with law school admissions representatives. Therefore, you will want to dress professionally (think business casual), as this will be the law school’s first impression of you. For tips on professional attire, visit the BU’s Center for Career Development site here.

Follow-up with an email to the law school representatives you had interesting conversations with or if you have additional questions. Thank them for their time, and plan on continuing to show your interest in their law school!
