Welcome Class of 2026!

August 7th, 2022 in News

Hello New Terriers!

Welcome to Pre-Law Advising at Boston University! We’re here to support students considering law school and law-related careers at any stage of a pre-law path. We encourage you to begin engaging with us as soon as the idea of law school enters your mind so that you can take full advantage of what we have to offer.

With events and programs throughout the year, we’ll help you learn about legal education and the law student experience, preparing for law school, the application process, and legal careers. Our workshops and information sessions also address undergraduate curricular choices, opportunities to explore the legal profession, standardized test preparation, and financing a legal education. In one-on-one advising appointments, we will address your individual questions and assist you in mapping out a plan to pursue and achieve your goals.

Ready to learn more? Review the document below for tips on getting started on the pre-law pathway!

Welcome again to Boston University. We look forward to meeting you in the fall!

Cheers,

Rita Ralston

Pre-Law Basics Workshop

Are you a freshman, sophomore, or transfer student new to Pre-Law Advising? Get started on the Pre-Law Advising pathway with a Pre-Law Advising Basics workshop! Students new to pre-law are encouraged to attend at least one of these group sessions as an introduction to the pre-law advising process before scheduling an individual appointment with the pre-law advisor. Multiple dates will be offered throughout the semester. Space for each session is limited, and registration is required.

Pre-Law Basics workshops provide a venue to meet the pre-law advisor and discuss common questions freshman, sophomore, and transfer students new to pre-law advising may have. In these sessions we will review the academic and personal qualities law schools look for in their applicants. We will discuss ways to explore your interest in law, steps and strategies for preparing for law school, and a suggested timeline for the application process.

PRE-LAW ADVISING BASICS WORKSHOPS WILL RESUME IN SEPTEMBER
