Boston University offers everything from traditional dormitories to modern apartments, for every type of group, from adult conferences to youth camps. Our housing is convenient and affordable. And it’s not just a place to sleep. Boston University has meeting space, dining options, and more to meet all your program needs. Our campus is centrally located with easy access to all that Boston has to offer.

Amenities

  • All our residences have 24-hour front desk security. In addition, the Events & Conferences team will staff a housing desk to check-in/out guests, assist residential guests with internet access, provide basic information regarding your conference/meeting, and offer concierge service for local attractions and businesses.
  • If requested by the conference organizer, rooms come with a standard bed linen package which includes bed linens, blanket, pillow, towels, and bath mat. Soap and shampoo are provided to our guests upon check-in.
  • All residential guests have access to the University’s WiFi connection.  Instructions  will be given to you upon check-in.
  • Convenient overnight parking is available to all of our residential guests with the option for guests to pay-on-entry or for passes to be pre-arranged with an Events Specialist.

Youth Groups

Boston University is committed to ensuring a safe and supportive environment to all students and youth who participate in activities and programs on campus.  Events & Conferences requires chaperones for programs with participants under the age of 21. Our  Requirements for Chaperones of Youth Programs outlines the policies and responsibilities.

All overnight programs with persons under the age of 18 fall under the scope of the University's Protection of Minors Policy and may require signature of the Boston University Protection of Minors Addendum.

All programs must be in compliance with all applicable Massachusetts laws and regulations concerning minors, which may include licensure to operate a recreational camp for children.

Fitness & Recreation

If you are participating in a BU summer program or conference, you may use Boston University’s state-of-the-art fitness center for a small per diem charge.

Fitrec welcomes BU guests to beat the heat indoor by utilizing our phenomenal facilities such as an indoor jogging track, squash and racquetball courts, two swimming pools, a fitness center, and more. Summer guests are also invited to take an invigorating recreation class.

Suite-style residences overlooking downtown Boston and the Charles River featuring single-occupancy bedrooms and location accessible to all Boston and BU have to offer. Learn more

100-square-foot private bedrooms with views of downtown and the Charles River, and shared bathrooms and living rooms. Kitchens are fully-equipped and campus dining is close at hand. Learn more

Options for Youth Groups

West Campus

West Campus includes three dormitory-style residences featuring single-, double-, and triple-occupancy with shared bathrooms and easy first floor access to the campus dining hall. Learn more

Air-conditioned single-, double, and triple-occupancy bedrooms with private baths and several communal conveniences, as well as easy access to the Warren Towers dining hall. Learn more

1019 Commonwealth Avenue

A suite-style residence hall on the western end of campus convenient to the Agganis Arena and other athletic facilities, and a short walk from Fresh Food Co. dining hall at West Campus. Learn more

Dining on Campus

All residential guests have the option to eat in campus residential dining halls. This service needs to be arranged by your group organizer in advance. In addition, many retail dining options are available to conference/residential guests.

Residential Dining

If you’re staying in one of our residences during the summer, you’re in for a treat. Our residential dining halls are available to all overnight conference guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (brunch and dinner on Sundays) with a rotating variety of choices at each meal. We take pride in serving delicious, healthy meals using sustainable and local food products. And our staff is happy to assist with special dietary requirements.

Retail Dining

Too rushed to get to a residential dining hall? We’ve still got your meals covered with a variety of on-campus retail options. To name a few: the George Sherman Union Food Court, Buick Street Market & Cafe, Breadwinners at the School of Management, School of Law Cafe, and Rize Cafe in the Yawkey Center for Student Services. See all the options for yourself.

Items to Bring

If you are interested in bringing an adult program to campus, the following is a list of items that you will want to suggest to them to bring to campus.


  • Additional blanket (apartments are air conditioned and tend to be cool at times)

  • Additional towels (only provide two medium sized towels)

  • We provide soap, shampoo, and lotion, so additional toiletries may be needed.

  • No kitchenware provided, though there are full sized refrigerators and microwaves in each apartment for your use.

  • Hair Dryer

  • Ethernet cord if you want back up for the wireless network provided.

  • Phone charger

  • Quarters if you are with a long term program, and would like to utlize the washers and dryers.
