Events Manager
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Events, this position supervises three Events Specialists as well as manages a portfolio of their own events and conferences including summer housing programs for university and non-University clients. Responsibilities include coordinate, arrange and support clients at all stages of event planning and execution; generate proposals, contracts, diagrams, and billing; establish and maintain collaborative relationships with university and non-university vendors; and provide excellent customer service to clients.

Finance Administrator
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Event Operations, this position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of business and administrative activities for the department. Responsibilities include: process and audit billing for external and internal clients; track, analyze, and report on departmental revenue and expenses as well as event-related data; coordinate student payroll processing including budgeting, hiring, and weekly approval; serve as a departmental resource regarding Sourcing and Accounts Payable; and assist other areas of the department with routine duties as needed.

Sales & Events Specialist
Serve as the front-line point of contact for conference and event inquiries that come in via phone, email, webform, and third-party sites. Assess and analyze requests to proactively anticipate needs, provide proposals, and coordinate the locations and services. Create, track, and monitor reports on past and current inquiry requests. Execute site tours. Fully coordinate a limited number of programs annually from inquiry to financial reconciliation. Assist with sales & marketing initiatives. Manage and collaborate with student employees. As needed provide support to other areas within Events & Conferences such as Commencement, registration, and summer conference housing.

Summer Conference Housing Program hosts more than 15,000 overnight guests in our residence halls each summer. E&C employs a large student staff that plays an integral role in ensuring that our guests receive quality service while staying on campus. Information and applications for Summer 2023 will be available in January 2023.

Event & Registration Services employs BU students to support event planning and execution, technical projects such as conference registration sites and websites as well as perform special marketing and other administrative projects. Our busiest season is the summer when we host overnight conference guests in residence halls. (more)
Reservations & Sales employs BU students each academic year as Reservations Assistants to process departmental and student organization requests for most space on campus. (more)
The Tsai Performance Center employs students each academic year as production crew and ushers. Positions are available to current BU students, with or without work-study grants. Typically, hiring occurs at the beginning of fall semester, with additional staff hired at the beginning of spring semester. (more on Tsai Center website)
