Logistics of work environment: online access, printers, photocopy, on-site scanners; other listening and video workstations; the collection in open stacks, closed stacks, and online; areas for re-shelving
Periodicals: currently received subscriptions, back issues, non-music periodicals; using the eJournal locator to determine full profile of both title’s online and physical availability.
Catalog locations for the Music Library: where are Open Reserve and Class Reserve, Music Reference; review stack arrangements and interpretation of location/call number/status for items found in the online catalog; how to request an Inquire at Music Library item; what to do if the status or location indicates Storage; special locations such as pamphlets, BSO notes, the Fiedler collection
Managing your circulation account; tips for catalog search and display of scores, recordings, course materials (reserves); how to place staff-assisted requests
Library web pages introduced; locate key print and electronic index and reference titles; learn about WorldCat and how it relates to the library catalog.
Learn what to do next when you’re looking for some item(s) or other information but you feel you’re not getting the results you’d like or what to do if something isn’t on the shelf; use of the BUWorldcat and Interlibrary loan services
