Four Alumni Join Dean’s Advisory Board

Antonio Gomes (’96), Michael Greenwald (’10), Saad Shervani (’04), and Robin Walker (’99) commit to advancing BU Law.

Four alumni have committed their guidance and resources to Boston University School of Law’s Dean’s Advisory Board (DAB). Antonio Gomes (’96), Michael Greenwald (’10), Saad Shervani (’04), and Robin Walker (’99) will contribute their insight, knowledge, and networks to the BU Law community.

The 2018–2019 Dean’s Advisory Board consists of 29 distinguished members that represent a wide breadth of legal experience and real-world perspectives. Members affirm their commitment to BU Law by serving as a sounding board for University leadership. They are tasked with evaluating important matters and promoting improvements across the school.

Through their professional and personal connections, members establish and promote relationships between alumni, friends, and potential corporate partners. They display their BU Law pride through hosted events and engagements.

Antonio Gomes (’96)

Antonio Gomes serves as the executive vice president and general counsel at Citrix, a data security technology company with solutions in 99 percent of the Fortune 100. Gomes leads the global legal team, which is responsible for the company’s corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property, and litigation among other legal support. Prior to his work at Citrix, Gomes was a partner at Goodwin Procter LLP and an associate at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault LLP.

In 2017, Gomes established the Matthew Z. Gomes Fellowship Fund to create two summer positions within the Technology & Cyberlaw and the Entrepreneurship & IP clinics. Created in memory of his son, the fund promotes diversity and inclusion in technology, cyberlaw, and intellectual property law.

Michael Greenwald (’10)

Michael Greenwald, senior vice president of Tiedemann Advisors, serves in the firm’s business development strategy. Before his current role, Greenwald served as a senior United States Treasury diplomat. While his experience spanned the globe, his work as the first United States Treasury Attaché to Qatar and Kuwait opened up the first Treasury Office in Qatar.

Prior to his role in Qatar, Greenwald was the United State Treasury Policy Advisor for Europe. He led the United States Delegation to the Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism. He will bring this specialized expertise to BU Law as an instructor in the BU Law Counter-Terrorist Financing Training Program formed in conjunction with Qatar University College of Law.

He also is a fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs and an adjunct professor at BU’s Pardee School of Global Studies, where he teaches classes on counterterrorism and the Middle East.

Saad Shervani (’04)

Saad Shervani is founding partner and head of the litigation department at the New Delhi office of Orbit Law Services. With more than 18 years’ experience of working both as in-house counsel for companies like Atlas Software Technologies and PepsiCo., as well as in private practice dealing with litigation and corporate law, his areas of expertise are alternate dispute resolution and corporate litigation.

Shervani served on the Union Panel of the Supreme Court of India and worked for the solicitor general and attorney general of India. His litigation practice advises on various areas of law, and he has extensive experience in drafting Writs, Special Leave Petitions, plaints and pleadings related to various proceedings.

Robin Walker ('99)

Robin Walker (’99)

As vice president, head of legal at Casebia Therapeutics, Robin Walker brings her transactional law expertise to the gene-editing venture. She counsels the company, which works with potentially life-saving products, on overall corporate strategy, governance, employment, compliance, and regulatory matters. Before joining Casebia, Walker served as general counsel at Biogen and senior corporate counsel at Staples Inc. In 2017, she was named one of Boston’s 50 most influential people of color in life sciences and healthcare.

Walker is accustomed to leadership roles, having served as the president of the Women’s Bar Association Foundation, board member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, and member of the Shady Hill School Board of Trustees.
