BU Law Online Course on Risk Management and Compliance Law Now Available to State Bar Associations

Course focuses on legal risk management for companies doing businesses overseas.

Boston University School of Law has announced that its online professional education course, Legal Risk Management Strategies for Multinational Enterprises, is now available to state bar associations and their members through a partnership with InReach, the leading continuing education management system for legal professionals. Launched in October 2015 on the edX platform, the course focuses on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation strategies for transnational business operations. State bar associations will be able to offer the course directly to their members, who can access the class through InReach’s library of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) content.

Legal Risk Management Strategies examines the issues that multinational companies face in adhering to the numerous laws and regulations that govern their operations. It introduces professionals to the new tools for managing risk in the global marketplace, with a focus on how to identify, analyze, and control risk in various commercial and financial contexts.

“Over the past several years we have seen heightened interest in legal training related to regulatory compliance, both among students and employers” says Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs John Riccardi. “We expect this trend to continue in today’s increasingly global economy.”

The course is currently approved for Continuing Legal Education credits in over 30 jurisdictions, including California, New York, Florida, Texas, and Illinois, with pricing at $300 for the full course, or $75 per part (four parts in total).

BU Law offers a robust set of online programs for domestic and internationally-trained lawyers. In 2011, the School launched a first-of-its-kind Executive LLM in International Business Law Program, giving working professionals advanced training through a blended format of residential and online courses. The school also offers an entirely online option for its acclaimed Graduate Tax Program, as well as an online Certificate in International Business Law.
