Submit a Course Proposal
Course approval at Boston University School of Law is a two-step process. The first step requires completion of this form to have your proposed course reviewed by the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. If the Associate Dean determines there is a need for this course in the curriculum, the second step will involve consideration by the law school’s JD Curriculum Committee. If you have questions, please contact the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at acadaff@bu.edu or the JD Committee at jdcommit@bu.edu.
Full-time faculty must submit any course proposals by February 15th of the preceding year in which the class is intended to be offered. Visiting faculty must submit any course proposals by February 15th of the preceding year in which the class is intended to be offered, if the visiting faculty member is employed by BU Law on that date. If the visiting faculty member is not employed by BU Law on February 15th, the visiting faculty member must submit any course proposal by August 1st for courses proposed for the following spring semester.
Where practicable, please upload a full syllabus to better enable consideration of your proposal.
