Susan M. Akram will speak at the “EU and US Border Regimes: Historical Perspectives and Current Policies” seminar on Thursday, February 2, 2023. This event will be held in-person at the BU Center for Forced Displacement, and virtually via zoom.

This is the first Mellon Foundation Sawyer Seminar in a series organized by Center on Forced Displacement. US and EU Border Externalization Regimes: Ethics, Identities, and Impacts is a seminar series that compares US and EU border management policies, acknowledging both the exceptional character of their influence and the similarities in their border regimes. This seminar will is an interdisciplinary and accessible exploration of the EU and US border externalization, a topic that has mostly been approached from the perspectives of international relations and political science.
