Part-Time Employment Opportunities

The Boston area provides opportunities for part-time employment not funded through the Federal Work-Study Program. As a service to interested students, the Student Employment Office, at 881 Commonwealth Avenue, 6th floor, maintains a comprehensive list of part-time jobs for the academic year and full-time summer jobs.

Given the time necessary to ensure adequate class preparation and a thorough understanding of course material, the School of Law does discourage part-time employment while in law school, particularly during the first year. In accordance with the American Bar Association and Boston University School of Law rules and requirements, any student who must work part-time may not work more than 20 hours per week.

Boston University offers students an opportunity to take short-term jobs through their Quickie Job Service that may be an easier way to earn some extra money than committing to a regular part-time job.
