- Ends: 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2026
Join us on November 10 to hear about two recent books on a panel featuring the authors themselves.
Valena Beety will discuss Pink Crime: Fighting Against the Criminalization of Motherhood, Pregnancy, and Queer Identity. Professor Beety shares the troubling stories of how women and queer people are targeted by criminal law based on their identities.
Libby Adler will discuss Governing the Terrain Called Beauty: The Queerness of Political Economy in Cuba and the United States. Professor Adler traces the history of LGBTQ identity and law in Cuba and the US to challenge traditional conceptions of liberal rights and put forth an explanation that relies on legal consciousness.
