Virtual Panel on May 25, 2022 02:30 PM

How have we grown and changed in the two years following the murder of George Floyd and subsequent international protests and calls for racial justice and accountability? We invite you to attend this virtual panel discussion with BU faculty and staff reflecting on the last two years of racial justice and exploring how we can channel “the fierce urgency of now” into the future.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Rachel Zank, University Relations and Campus Outreach Manager for BU Study Abroad and Chair of the Allies & Advocates Faculty & Staff Community Network, and will include time for audience Q&A. Panelists include Ianna Hawkins Owen, Assistant Professor of English and African American Studies; Moddie Linen, Assistant Director of BU Judicial Affairs; Phillipe Copeland, Clinical Assistant Professor in the BU School of Social Work; and Jasmine B. Gonzales Rose, Professor of Law.

This event is hosted by BU Diversity & Inclusion and co-sponsored by the Office of the Senior Diversity Officer, BU Human Resources, The Howard Thurman Center, Organizational Development & Learning, The Newbury Center, The BU Arts Initiative, the LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff, and the Faculty & Staff Community Networks.

We welcome all BU community members. Please join us!
