Judge Thomas Brennan (’66) honored by Lawrence District Court

An official portrait of retired Judge Thomas Brennan — whose legal career spanned five decades — was unveiled in a ceremony attended by family, friends and co-workers Thursday afternoon.

Brennan was the first justice of Lawrence District Court from 2005 until his retirement in 2011.

He then became the first district court judge to be granted a recall appointment and was named acting first justice of Lowell District Court in 2011. He remained in that position until July 30, 2017.

“During his last assignment, Judge Brennan took particular satisfaction from establishing and acting as lead judge in the Lowell District Court Drug Court,” according to biographical information distributed at the ceremony.

Brennan’s portrait was unveiled in courtroom four in the Fenton Judicial Center.
