Congratulations to Faculty Awardees
As the year comes to a close, the Center would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the talented humanities faculty who have received awards this semester. The Center is especially pleased to announce that Center Associate Director and Professor of Religion Margarita Guillory has won the Templeton Award for Excellence in Student Advising for CAS faculty who have had a profound impact on undergraduates through mentorship.
Each year, the Provost’s Faculty Teaching Awards Committee selects one Metcalf Cup and Prize winner and up to two Metcalf Award winners. This year, we are happy to announce that both prizes went to humanities faculty. Associate Professor of Russian & Comparative Literature Yuri Corrigan is the winner of the Metcalf Cup and Prize, and Associate Professor of History Alexis Peri has won the Metcalf Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Associate Professor of Classical Studies Leah Kronenberg has received the Gerald and Deanne Gitner Family Award for Innovation in Teaching with Technology, which celebrates the use of technology to create positive learning outcomes for undergraduates. Master Lecturer in Spanish Alison Carberry has also been recognized for her teaching ability with the Neu Family Award for Excellence in Teaching. Lecturer in Arabic Salima Slimane has received the College of Arts & Sciences Award for Distinction in First Year Undergraduate Education.
Master Lecturer in Spanish María Datel is the faculty winner of the CAS IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access Leadership) Award for her work to create inclusive pedagogy and incorporate indigenous stories into her curriculum. Finally, Lecturer in French Lillie Webb has won the Susan K. Jackson Award for faculty, which recognizes those who create and nurture community in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Congratulations to all!
