BU Hub News: End-of-Semester Updates

As faculty, students, and staff wrap up the fall 2018 semester, here are some important updates regarding Hub curriculum development and events:
· The University Council General Education Committee (GEC) has now approved over 560 courses and cocurricular learning experiences for inclusion in the BU Hub.
· For AY 2020 (spring-only courses), the deadline for submitting Hub courses to the GEC is March 15, 2019. The full list of deadlines can be found on the Hub website. Priority areas of development include upper-level/major courses and new, distinctive Hub courses as well as courses that carry Hub units in the following areas: Writing-Intensive Course, Digital/Multimedia Expression, The Individual in Community, Ethical Reasoning, and Creativity/Innovation. Another priority area of development is courses that meet the public policy learning outcome for Scientific Inquiry II or Social Inquiry II.
· The Fall 2018 Cross-College Challenge (XCC) Project Showcase will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 9:45 am-1 pm. Twelve interdisciplinary teams of juniors and seniors from across BU will present their real-world projects. For more information, please visit bu.edu/xcc.
· Keep an eye out for spring 2019 dates for the Hub & Pub Series: Conversations on Teaching & Learning in the BU Hub, a collaboration between the BU Hub Office and the Center for Teaching & Learning.
