We are excited to announce the official publication of SEQUITUR’sAftershock.” In this issue of SEQUITUR, we invited perspectives on a timely and urgent issue: the aftershock. The past two years have been difficult not only because of an ongoing pandemic but because of several other unfolding global calamities. The contributors to this issue approach the question of the aftershock from multiple angles within the discipline of art history and speak to events ranging from the immediate experience of the COVID-19 pandemic to topics of climate change and social and political unrest. Volume 8, Issue 1 of the Boston University History of Art & Architecture graduate student journal, SEQUITUR, is available here.

This issue includes two feature essays, one visual essay, one research spotlight, and three exhibition reviews—contributions that creatively engage with our digital format. We hope you will take a few moments to look through SEQUITUR in the coming days and weeks and find respite from the challenges of our time. We welcome any feedback and encourage you to forward this email to anyone you feel might be interested. Please enjoy!

Sincerely,
The SEQUITUR Editorial Team
